Biography

Prof. Abdullah Adil Ansari completed his undergraduate Studies at The New College (Madras University) in 1993 and received his M.Sc. Life Sciences Education from Regional College of Education (Utkal University) and Ph.D. degree in Life Science-Zoology from Madras University. He was a research associate for 3 years at Uttar Pradesh Land Development Corporation (World Bank Project), Lucknow in association with IRSBB, Chennai, India. He was appointed as Lecturer II (Dept. of Biology) at University of Guyana from January 2005 onwards and served for a period of three years. During this period, he took up teaching assignments in the area of Vertebrate Zoology, parasitology, animal physiology and conducted research relating to application of vermitechnology in organic solid waste management and its extension in the field. Then he moved to Nigeria in 2009 where he served as Senior Lecturer and Head of Zoology Unit in the Department Biological Sciences, Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero, Kebbi State, Nigeria up to period of two years and then was back to Guyana as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biology, University of Guyana. He also served as HOD Biology from 2012 for a period for one year and subsequently took over as Dean, Faculty of Natural Sciences (2013-15). He was promoted to full Professor (Biology) from 24th June 2015 onwards. He served as HOD Biology from August, 2019 to July, 2022. Presently, he is Dean, Faculty of Natural Sciences from September 2022.
