MSc in Artificial Intelligence

The Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence (AI) programme is designed to equip students with both foundational and advanced knowledge, along with technical skills in the field of AI. This multidisciplinary programme will draw on knowledge from across various industry sectors and disciplines towards providing students with opportunities to apply skills, such as machine learning, natural language processing, and robotics, among others, to address complex real-world problems and opportunities.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this programme, students should:

  1. Discuss methods for conducting AI research.
  2. Identify opportunities to use AI in a local, regional and/or international context.
  3. Evaluate academic, ethical, social, cultural and professional implications of the use of AI in society.
  4. Design and implement AI-based systems.
  5. Investigate and report on an AI-based research problem.

Entry Requirements

The following individuals are eligible for entry into the programme:

  1. BSc. in Computer Science or any other discipline deemed relevant by the Faculty from a recognised university with at least a credit (Overall GPA or 2.7 or above). OR
  2. BSc. in Computer Science or any other discipline deemed relevant by the Faculty from a recognised university with an overall GPA that is less 2.7 but greater than 2.0 and a Major GPA of 2.7 or above. OR
  3. BSc. in Computer Science or any other discipline deemed relevant by the Faculty from a recognised university, whose GPA does not match any of the above, AND at least 3 years of relevant post qualification work experience. These prospective students will have to take and pass an entry proficiency test with at least 60%. OR
  4. A Master of Science Degree in an area deemed relevant by the Faculty. OR
