Associate of Science (ASc) in Biology

About The Programme

In keeping with the University of Guyana’s strategic goal to achieve higher quality teaching and learning aligned with expanded national needs especially in science and technology, the major goal of the ASc Biology is provision of essential training in biology and the allied sciences to those wishing to complete a formal course of study and immediately enter the job market.  Additionally, students will be exposed to the scientific method and professional ethics. They will be trained in the safe practice of biology in field and laboratory situations, and will be encouraged to develop a life-long love for learning.

The Associate of Science Degree is weighted at a minimum of 70 credits and will be awarded upon the successful completion of a course of fulltime study lasting two years.
